Keep Avoid the Fast Food Trap

Posted under Articles by baryant

If you see  locked my clinic at night, I got a surprise. Across the road is the famous (national brand) pizza takeaway. It is often open when I go home, but what surprised me today was the number of customers. People were queued outside waiting to order their dinner. It made me wonder how often people eat their take-away dinner.

Although the occasional fast food is not so bad (for "random" I mean once in three months or so), it occurred to me that some people may not know the strategy chefs use to collect quick, nutritious meal at home that will promote their health. Qualified chefs seem to be able to provide a glamorous meal together for a few minutes, but most of us do not have the same level of knowledge!

I would like to offer you several options to save you from yet another take dinner, and offer some of the home, a tasty alternative that can be obtained about the same time as it takes you to wait for a pizza order.

Most fast food is highly processed, with a high proportion of salt, sugar, fat, preservatives and additives, low in fiber and nutrients. Natural, healthy diet, in comparison, contains a wide range of raw or uncooked foods, prepared as soon as it's possible. But if you're busy living a little time, it would seem that there just is not enough time to prepare a spectacular feast from scratch every night. Here are some ideas to help you bridge the gap, and serve healthy meals for the whole family:

1. Get a slow cooker. These wonderful devices can cook the meat or chicken while you're at work, then all you need to do is a couple of accompanying vegetables when you get home.

2. Have a barbecue on the veranda of operational over winter. This is a quick way to cook chicken or fish, then serve with some salad or steamed vegetables. If you do not have a barbecue, a grill plate character will do.

3. If you have a wok, food can be created within minutes using a meat, vegetables and spicy sauce.

4. When you create a labor-intensive dish for lunch, as Mornay Tuna or lasagna, make a double. Serve half and freeze the other half to warm up on a busy night.

5. Preparation of simple home soup from scratch takes only 30 minutes. You could have it wholemeal bread on a cold winter night.

Taking a few minutes to prepare home cooked meals will give you and your family better than the standard diet. It will be easier on your wallet too!
